Low hanging fruit
As some of you will know already, I live in the central Italian Apennine mountains, a fact I’m prone to grumbling about when nobody’s around to hear. I’m sure it would be paradise for many, if not most, but I am very much a maritime creature (I come from Cornwall originally) and here I’m just about as far as it’s possible to get from the coast in peninsular Italy. Oh well, that’s life. Whinging aside, photographically I really can’t complain, particularly during winter when in certain weather conditions, the view across the valley to the mountains the other side can be spectacular, especially at dawn.
So there I was this morning, wrapped up warm, drinking my early morning coffee sitting comfortably (more or less) on my terrace watching the sun come up and lazily taking the odd snap now and then when a particular twirl of mist caught my fancy. Apart from the fact that I should probably have dried the chair before sitting there (she said, shifting uneasily in her seat as later she types at her desk), I’m not dissatisfied with the result and I thought you might like to see what I saw so to speak. These are pretty much straight out of the camera, so a little rough round the edges, but, well, I hope you like them.
It takes a while for the sun to get round to the other side of the house, the shivery cold north side, but it does what it can… as do I. Good morning to you all, wherever you are. May today bring you the best possible light and the ISO you desire.
